The Ultimate Gift

My Salvation

You ask me how I gave my heart to Christ,
I do not know.
There came a yearning for Him in my soul
so long ago.
I found earths flowers would fade and die.
I wept for something that would satisfy.
And then, and then somehow I seemed to dare
To lift my broken heart to God in prayer.

I do not know, I cannot tell you how,
I only know He is my Saviour now.

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock.
If anyone hears my voice and opens the door,
I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.
Rev 3:20 NIV

....The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,
that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming.
That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord,"
and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead,"you will be saved."
For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified,
and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.
for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
Rom 10:8-10,13 NIV

Prayer for Salvation

Dear Lord Jesus,
I know that I am a sinner and need Your forgiveness.
I believe that you died for allsin past, present and future, including my sins.
I now trust that your sacrifice paid for my sins.
I want to turn from my sins and recieve your forgiveness
and your gift of eternal life.
I now invite you to come into my heart and life.
I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior.
Though I know I'll sin again, it is my nature, I know I have forgiveness and can always seek your assurance.
Thank you for dying for me and setting me free!

"It is for freedom, that Christ has set us free. Galatians 5:1

Believe What God Believes About You...

excerpted from the book, 15 Minutes Alone with God for Women by Emilie Barnes

Scripture reading: 1 Corinthians 13:4-13
It's been read a thousand times
but have you ever seen it paraphrased like this?

This was done by Christian psychologist Dr. Dick Dickerson.
Read this aloud to yourself every day for at least 30 days and check out how much better you will feel about yourself afterwards.

Because God loves me,
He is slow to lose patience with me.
Because God loves me,
He takes the circumstances of my life and uses them in a constructive way for my growth.
Because God loves me,
He does not treat me as an object to be possessed and manipulated.
Because God loves me,
He is for me. He wants me to mature and develop in His love.
Because God loves me,
He does not send down His wrath on every little mistake I make, of which there are many.
Because God loves me,
He does not keep score of all my sins,
and then beat me over the head with them when ever He gets a chance.

Because God loves me,
He is deeply grieved when I do not walk in the ways that please Him
because He sees this as evidence that I don't trust Him and love Him as I should.

Because God loves me,
He rejoices when I experience His power and strength and stand up under the pressure of life for His names's sake.
Because God loves me,
He keeps working patiently with me even when I feel like giving up and can't see why He doesn't give up with me too.
Because God loves me,
He keeps on trusting me when at times I don't even trust myself.
Because God loves me,
He never says there is no hope for me,rather, He patiently works with me, loves me and disciplines me in such a way
that it is hard for me to understand the depth of His concern for me.

Because God loves me,
He never forsakes me even though many of my friends might.

God is for you!
